Hi! How is everyone doing? I’ve been kind of on a health kick lately so I thought it would be fun to share with you guys my favorite healthy, yummy, quick and easy go-to snacks. I’m a total snacker. I would almost rather whip up a few of these babies throughout my day rather than cook an actual meal. I know, it’s strange, but hey, at-least I embrace it.
Greek yogurt with granola and blueberries: I LOVE yogurt. Everything about it. The only downfall is that it’s not very filling, which is why I add granola and fruit to it. I usually use blueberries, but strawberries and raspberries are also my go-to.
Whole wheat toast with honey and banana & a side of kiwi: One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE bread. I legitimately don’t think I could live without it. And honey, I literally put it on everything (bread, chicken, french fries, etc.) I used to love white bread but I recently transitioned to the semi-more healthy kind. Something else about me that is really kind of weird is I don’t like eating banana by itself. Like a peeled banana for breakfast isn’t good to me all, but once I add it to toast – game changer. Kiwi is also my favorite fruit of ALL time, so adding a side of it gives it a little bit more flavor.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with fresh fruit: This is my absolute favorite snack to eat. Minus the bread, it’s extremely healthy, but I just can’t give up bread because carbs are LIFE. It only takes two minutes to make and adding fresh-fruit is always my go-to because it adds some juicy goodness with your sticky peanut butter.
Rice cakes topped with peanut butter, blueberries and raspberries with grapefruit on the side: Did you guys know that there are only 35 calories in a rice cake? How amazing is that! Everyone tells me I should sub out my bread addiction for rice cakes… but I just eat both 🙂 I’ve had two rice cakes with peanut butter and fruit on the side every morning this week before work. Having to wake up at at 7 a.m., get myself and Brayden ready before having to be at work at 8:30, it takes two seconds and is SO yummy! Also, if I’m running late, I can eat it to go while juggling a hyper toddler.
Acai bowl: I’ll be posting how I make my very own acai bowl at home soon! If I have all the ingredients I need, I definitely try to make one of these babies atleast once a week. Fruit (preferably strawberries, bananas, kiwis and any other berries), almond milk, seeds and acai puree. You can also add some granola for a little extra crunch. They’re delicious, easy to make, and they’re pretty!
